About Me
Hello there. I’m Emily Love, a licensed certified social worker–clinical (LCSW–C), with a private practice based in Baltimore. I’m a therapist because, in times of stress, therapy has been a life-changing experience for me. I am here to offer the same hope and opportunity to others. I’ve been working as a therapist and counselor for more than 25 years now.
What I Offer
I provide individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults as well as couples sessions. My main focuses are anxiety, depression, and mood disorders, though I help many clients with other disorders and concerns. I especially enjoy working with young adults navigating times of transition, social pressures, and stress.
I take a client-centered, integrative approach, which means that I work with you, to determine your diagnosis and which courses of treatment will best suit your needs. These include approaches that might or might not be familiar to you now—cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), and others—that I will explain as we go. I also provide parent training that emphasizes behavioral management skills. Please see below for more information on some of the areas.
I am available to work with clients in-person and via teletherapy.
Pandemic update: I am currently conducting in-person sessions with only vaccinated clients. Remote sessions are available to all and are effective too!
